I have spoken to my IP today I have been told that my IVA is finished as far as they are concerned. They said that the certificate of completion would take a few weeks but all the reports have been sent to my creditors. Is it truly over or do I have to wait for the certificate of completion. If I was to inherit or win some money would it be my own.
How long will it take for my name to be removed from the insolvency register, and how do I go about this?

In my experience it should only take a few days for your case to be removed from the register.

You should get the certificate within 28 days of completion of the arrangement. You can consider its over when its removed from the register or you get the certificate whichever is the sooner

It is a good feeling, there is plenty of support on the forum there is always someone who will know the answers to your questions however small.

The certificate is merely evidence of the event that has taken place i.e full implemmentation. This hasto be issued under Insolvency Rule 5.34 within 28 days of full implementation of the arrangement, which I would imagine is the date upon which your obligations come to an end.

The Supervisor also has 28 days in which to notify the Secretary of State so the worst case is that you find out about your "release" up to 28 days after it has happened[:(]

Unless there are compelling reasons for you not to do so, the direct question to the Supervisor of whether your obligations have now come to an end ought to flush out the current status.
