I agree - Tina and Tamsyn are great, and I know that waiting for the first call I was sweating because I was so embarrased about explaining how much help I needed, but I felt a load had been lifted afterwards and have slept great every night since- which is great as I have been so stressed that I have been suffering with Insomnia !!
Just be honest about everything and remember that they are here to help and not to laugh or judge !!
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!
Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA
Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!
I have now agreed to go ahead with the IVA and Baines & Ernst have taken me on. I will receive my paper work at the end of the week and will be picked up by courier on monday a.m.
I feel releived at the moment knowing that I qualify for this but then again it's only the beginning. I'm dreading the day of the creditor meeting (providing it gets that far) for the simple reason that there may not be a 75% majority.
Fingers crossed though, and I will keep you posted

Hi carlH82, we went with Mel Giles, other IP firms i've seen posting here include Grant Thornton, McCambridge Duffy,Payplan, Debt Free Direct. i'm sure others will post who they're with & give you feed back.
good luck.
Sorry for not responding to this, but on the phone to Baines and Ernst earlier, the fella I spoke to said the IP's name who would be dealing woth me is Grant Thornton. I'm glad that I see a name that someone else has used as it makes me feel a little easier
The first step is the hardest, so well done in taking the plunge.
GT will be in contact with you to go through the next steps in the process however as you know the forum is also a great support to share any concerns or worries you may have,
Hi Carl - glad you have got something sorted. Little concerned that you said you spoke with Mel Giles on 21st - Melanie is underwater on leave and I haven't had the pleasure of speaking to you yet so not sure who it was that you spoke with or who called you. Disappointed I didn't get to talk to you but glad you have something sorted.
Regards,

Well from the advice I have been given from many was to talk to a few different firms. I have done just that and I did make a decision. After reading a few reviews and speaking to a few other company's, I am a little reluctant to sign any agreement.
I am not going to bad mouth anyone or any firm on here but there are 1 or 2 people I have spoken to that have made me change my mind.
Tina, I may still talk to you or a colleague yet, but I do have someone calling me later on today (Friday) to discuss some things that we have already spoken about.
Sorry to disappoint but a decision has to be made which ofcourse means agreeing with one and not the other
Hi CarlH82 - we spoke on Monday and I arranged to ring you later as you were going out, but unfortunately you gave me an incorrect mobile number - I have tried to email you to contact me but not had a response, any chance you could give me a ring (number in your email inbox)
Many thanks Melanie (Nicholas - I work for Melanie Giles!)
Carl, I hope you can get this sorted out. Mel's company is known for their prompt responses and obviously there has been a bit of a mix up with numbers.
Please check your inbox as Mel suggests and give the other Mel a call.

Hi Carl - thanks for the update - you are absolutely doing the right thing by speaking to as many companies as you need until you feel ready to make a commitment - it is such an important decision you need to feel happy.
I hope you get to speak to Melanie asap so she can alleviate any concerns you have.

GT do get a lot of positive reviews on here. Confusingly, GT is the name of the firm, not the IP who will be supervising your iva. I'm so glad you're getting sorted. We are all nervous about being rejected but creditors will see you are putting your best offer forward and you'll get the green light too!!!
I would just like to say that I don't want to offend or disappoint anyone if I use someone other than any of you that post here. It's not the type of person that I am. Ofcourse I need to make a decision as soon as possible. I have been in touch with a company called Invocass (Spelling?) and they seem to be on the ball also.
I will speak again with Mel just to weigh up my options but please, as mentioned above, don't be offended if I don't go with you.
I hope you understand.
Regards
Carl

Hi Carl. Don't worry about offending anyone with your eventual choice, It is important that you go with a company that you feel comfortable with and feel that will work with you over the term of your IVA. Ultimately it is your chioce, not ours
I can't say anthing either way about Invocas, as I have only heard the name in passing before now. However, I can say that you will not go far wrong with Mel and her team. I have had experience of firms that are all sweetness and light until you are "signed up" then everything changes, and I do know that this isn't the case with Mel. Her team do work tirelessly in her client's best interests throughout the IVA and beyond. Indeed she is just as contiencious in helping those of us who are not her clients!
Hopefully Invocas will be the same for you. We will follow your progress with interest, and, of course, be here to support you through your journey.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Nobody will be offended and you need to go with the company you feel most comfortable with.
I've not heard too much about Invocas, I don't think they get mentioned much on here.
