I know of him Jan. I believe him to be widely respected for corporate insolvency work, but I did not know that he did much personal insolvency - however from the website it seems that they are full all-rounders.

It's good to see a new firm to the forum who appears to be a good one on the face of it. Let's hope we get some good reviews.

Hi shoestring,
Sorry that you are experiencing such a difficult time.
Barclaycard were by far my most agressively persuant creditor, initially via phone then through mercers.
As others have posted, it is best that you actually speak to a professional IP regarding your personal situation.
I`m certain there is a solution there for you as there was for me.
Just try not to panic, there will be a solution[:)]

Hi Shoestring.

I am the Web Relations Manager for Barclaycard and have been reading about your experiences. I am really sorry to hear that you are unhappy and would like to help you. With this information in mind, would you be able to send me an email with some further information and also your postcode so I can locate your account? You can email: customer.relations@barclaycard.co.uk.

I also apologise for the delayed response, however, I have been attempting to get in touch with the forum’s admin team, prior to posting. If a site admin sees this post, please also feel free to contact me with feedback regarding Barclaycard’s interaction with iva.co.uk.

Many Thanks

Welcome to the forum Richard. Its good to see a representative from one of the larger creditors and I think your input to the forum will be very helpful.

Thanks

As a debtor (ugh) may I also welcome Richard aboard. It would be great if creditors got involved here as we are all working together for the best solution to our debt problems and I hope the creditors appreciate that the vast majority of IVA'ers are trying to do the best they can to get the creditors the best return in a situation none of us want to be in !

Have to say that Barclaycard/Mercers were my worst nightmare and if Richard can redress the problems caused by the above it would be brilliant.

Barclaycard were one of two creditors who voted to turn down my IVA which is bizarre as the only alternative was bankruptcy and it was clearly illustrated that in bankruptcy they would have got nothing!! Thankfully the other creditors were not so foolish and the IVA was passed!!! Have creditors ever posted on the forum before? Shoestring, hang in there, you will get things sorted!!

Welcome from me as well.

I have to say that I was lucky - my debt was never passed to Mercers and Barclaycard were the only creditor who put a hold on my account and never called me again.

Really positive to see a large creditor on the forum being visible and answering questions that will help the many forum members along the way !

Certainly in some ways it will be a positive thing for a creditor to post. I would just be a bit concerned that it may put newbies who need advice off posting. I am not sure I would have posted on the forum when I needed advice if I had known that some of my creditors were also posting.

Good point, Lucky. However, none of my creditors know me as "Foggy" ... maybe a few names they don't share with me, but that is by the by :-)
