Hi, I've got a Natwest Account and have had this throughout the IVA. I know there are other banks that are friendly when in an IVA. Is the IVA still showing on his credit file, if not I would think you can go anywhere, probably best to avoid a creditor but apart from that he should be fine. Others as in the Co-op or natwest, nationwide and a few others are IVA friendly.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

The Halifax offer Easy cash account which is a basic account with an Electron debit card. I know Nationwide and The Yorkshire both offer basic accounts too.

Barclays do an account with a debit card for people in our position. They were really helpful. Good luck x
