Hi all, my husband and I entered into our IVA in June 2009 (so far so good). My daughter needs to open an account just to save for herself, she is 14. We applied for a Coop account but they have declined the application. Is there any bank out there that would allow my daughter a basic account?
Thanks

Your daughter should not be affected by your IVA at all, so I would think she can try any bank for a savings account.

My teenage children both have Nationwide Smart Card accounts. You can pay in at the building society and withdraw with a cashpoint card. Pays a measly 0.75% interest! They seem to be fine with it - I transfer their monthly pocket money allowance into their individual Nationwide accounts by standing order each month. Our eldest, who is 17, works part-time and her wages get paid into it too.

My son has a natwest solo account and he researched it and at the time it offered good rate of interest. x

I don't think many banks offer a good rate of interest on a savings account at the moment.
