Me again! Sorry!
I was contacted by a cmpany called Tyler Morgan at the end of last year regarding clearing my credit file up (IVA recently completed) and potential PPI claims, so I left them have allthe details more out of interest. I ended up clearing the file myself as they never seemed to get round to it and 7-8 months on have heard nothing regarding PPI claim. I have chased everywhere along the way and have made all of the enquiries as to the progress with the PPI thing. Being told the same thing, my IVA provider had not provided them with the paperwork. Ihad always found my IVA provider very good so I gave them a call and asked what the delays were. They stated they had never received a request and had no knowledge of one, however asked what info was required and agreed to send it to me. I thanked them arranged the paperwork, and feeling quite proud of myself emailed Tyler Morgan. They immediately got back to me (a first) stating that they were dropping me and could no longer act for me as I had made that one phone call. To be honest I sent them an email back stating how I felt about their service (no rude words honest!) and how I was dissatified at the way they had managed my case. I then get an email from them asking that I retract my previous email or they would instruct solicitors! I wasnt aware you could instruct a solicitor when a service user expressed a personal opinion on the quality of service received. Is this another heavy handed tactic of trying to threaten people or have they actually got a case?
Sounds like "putting on the frightners" to me, ask them for full written explanation of what exactly they think you have done and specifically under what law will they be claiming against you.
I would also remind them they provide a service in claiming back your PPI and as a customer you have a right to complain.
Personally i think they talking out thier "Arris

Time to end of IVA 0 days
Time to end of GT dealing with it...CC recieved after a battle royal !!
I'm no legal expert but it probably depends what you stated in your letter - if you're being defamatory then maybe there could be a case (IE along the lines of: slanderous, insulting, abusive, denigrating, disparaging, vilifying, derogatory, injurious, libellous, vituperative, calumnious, contumelious).
If you are stating facts or your opinion of facts about the service or lack of received then, no, they wont have a case and just using scare tactics. To be honest even if you were being defamatory and its just a communication between you and them (IE not in the public domain) I dont see how it could be harming their reputation in any case. There is such a thing of freedom of speech.
I feel very aggrieved at the way this matter has been handled, and as much as I would not make negative comments about Tyler Morgan I feel unable to recommend them either

Hi Zo - from what you have explained, it sounds a very 'interesting' and unproductive approach to customer satsifaction, verging on counter productive! You have a right to make complaint as a customer and as you did it directly with them rather than in the public domain they have no cause for taking legal proceedings, unless you were making a threat to go public with incorrect information. You could have been far more elaborate on here but you have chosen not to be which they should be grateful for. It is a shame the relationship has ended like this but probably in your best interests all round!
No-one is perect and mistakes can happen giving a need to complain, however, in most cases how the complaint is dealt with ultimately dictates customer satsifaction, not the original problem - and this case proves it, to a worse position.
Best wishes and there are plenty of other PPI companies around willing to sort this out for you should you still wish to explore it.
