Welcome to the Forum Darren,

This letter is a scam, unfortunately these individuals forming the "IVA Council" just go onto the Insolvency register obtain people's details who have entered and IVA and send them a very misleading and fraudulant letter.

I would throw the letter in the bin.

I thought and hoped that this particular outfit had stopped these mailshots.
Do they still advise to stop paying your IVA ?

They say on their own website;

"When we first started on pure enthusiasm and quite frankly anger, we didn’t get the proper advice with regards to our original mail shot and we made mistakes. We have since taken advice and rectified them. Hence our mail shot no longer advises people to stop paying their IVAs."

hmmmm sounds like it!

What a load of rubbish! And they still can't be bothered or have the courtesty to return telephone calls to professionals such as myself, to explain why they have felt it necessary to write to my clients. Come on Mr Baker - pick the phone up and talk to me!

There is a bit of a message in there somewhere, and it is time the OFT sorted this outfit out.

Has anyone been in touch with the (alleged?) IP they have to

a) find out if he is real
b) find out why he is allowing himself to be associated with people who may be committing offences under the fraud act?

Andy

The Forum needs to ask the Secretary of State whether this lot have purchased updates to the Insolvence Register. If they have, they are by their actions clearly breaking the agreement under which this information is supplird, and we should formally complain.

I can e-mail a copy of this Agreement to "admin" if you wish,

We will make all your IVA payments for you if Accident or Sickness stops you paying them yourself.

Mr Peat is regulated by the ICAEW and practices as Peats, Canford House, Discovery Court Business Centre, 551-553 Wallisdown Road, Poole, BH12 5AG. Are you saying that he is partly behind the IVA Council's recent letters to all people currently subject to IVA's. If so I have his telephone number and will be interested to have a chat with him.

Where did this information come from as a matter of interest?

Their website has recently been overhauled - Mr Peat has a column on their forum.

You can view the website at www.ivacouncil.org.uk/forum

EDIT: As to his role in their mailouts, he appears to be a more recent addition to their roster as far as we can tell. His role in the running of the organisation is currently unclear.
