Hi Myles - get copies of you credit files from the 3 main agencies - and check to make sure the default date is the same date as your IVA started - if not request this be done - enclose a copy of your certificate. (it quicker to do this online £2.00 each)

You IVA will remain on file for 6 years.

You can start to help build a credit file - mobile phone contract/credit card (payoff monthly - Granite/Vanquis). A full bank account - run correctly - DONT use a previous bank that were one of your creditors - as they have to keep their own data.

It will take time to get mainstream credit - so time /patience - are essential

Strangely enough ginger, I still have my Barclays account and Barclaycard were one of my creditors. Once I finish my IVA it will go back to being my main account!
