I am feeling really down today and right sorry for myself. Grant Thornton were great when I have just asked for a 2 month payment break to get the MOT'S done and servicing on our 2 cars.
Then tonight, I have stood on my glasses and broken them. Nothing seems to be going right at the moment. I seem to take 1 step forward then 2 steps backwards.
The road seems so long and I am really struggling to see light at the ed of the tunnel. Things are tough at the minute and I feel so upset.
Doh! I wear glasses so I can imagine the stress! I'm also 45/60 payments in...feels close but far away at the same time! I'll be almost 1k better off when it's over!
be positive - we all have our good and bad times in the IVA and unfortunately you seem to be having a few bad times at the moment - as Mel says you may be able to claim for your glasses on your insurance so it may be worth a phone call !
You have come so far and have only a few payments left - stay focused and all will be ok !

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
When hubby broke his glasses we were able to claim on the household insurance for them.

I shouldn't have but the one step forward and 2 steps bck comment gave me the exact image of you stepping on you glasses.
Look online for glasses but you get what you pay for. I have had the same rubbish specs for ten years, but as I wear contacts the glasses aren't used much!

I am sorry to hear you are having a run of bad luck, as has been mentioned you should contact your house insurance provider and hopefully you will be able to claim. Let us know how you get on,
I can sympathise with you - I feel the same at the moment. September was a bad month - Car breaking down (rear suspension knackered) and a few health issues.
I've only been able to put car in garage last week as I had to wait till pay day to have some money - now its going to cost me £576 to fix as MOT is also due.
I've only started the IVA journey but i feel your pain!
I just keep telling myself, that things can only get better although i do seem to have a rain could above me permanently at the moment.

IVA Accepted 31st March 2011.
IVA Ends 31st March 2016.
everhopefull I hope you are getting things sorted out and feel a bit better today
I'd check your excess and what it will cost to replace the glasses if they cannot be repaired before contacting your insurance company. Some companies even if you do not claim log it down and I've always wondered if this goes against you in terms of increased premiums later on even if you don't claim
best wishes
