Oh these all made me laugh. Esp the pizza LOL.

I'm a firm believer in credit or complaint where due. I've written and complained about thigns before and had letters of apology and vouchers and have actually written twice over the years to say thanks for a particular product. One sent me back loads of vouchers for all the products. Was floored.

I hate hate complaining face to face and although there are times when I really am shaking with nerves I have stood my ground. It really amazes me that some people think they really can take companies for a ride.

I once bought a six pack of coke cola and one of them was completly empty - strange not opened and definatly nort damaged to the point wh
ere it could have leaked
sent it back and they replied with a thank you for raising an obvious quality issue along with a £10 voucher and a custoemr satisfaction survey which i filled in and raised the quality issue and as in manufacturing myself wondered how it happened,
they replied with an explanation and sent me another£5 voucher as well!!!

I can complain for England and usually do! I also give credit where it is due as well and will always write to the head office to praise a particular employee.

Did this for Sainsburys once when the assistant spent a good half hour searching for the remote for a TV we were buying - she kept phoning back up to the desk to tell us she hadn't forgotten us. I wrote giving my thanks, got a nice letter back and a voucher for a bottle of wine. She came up to me the next time we went in to thank us as she had also had a nice letter which had been pinned up on the notice board.

Your right Jan, we do moan n groan but rarely praise individuals.

It used to make my day when I had done something for a customer & got good feedback from them.

I will complain if justified and praise too. I wrote a letter to my local paper the other week and it was printed about an incident in the town.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Im going to complain in writing to Vision Express Head Office.

My Dad had his car accident back in October last year, & went to Vision Express after he became well again because there was something just not right with his sight & he was very worried.
He ended up with 3 pairs of glasses, 1 for reading, 1 for long distance & a bifocal pair. And things were still not right & confusing - 3 pairs of glasses puzzled us all! But they had told him there was something wrong & they were going to refer him to hospital. We waited n waited n he went back to them n they had no idea & kept saying they would ring him & did not.
Well to cut it short he went to a different opticians today (forgot the name) And they gave him a thorough examination, he was in there for over 40 minutes. Only to find through the testing that the what vision express tests where a total different reading than what they found & there is nothing that needs to be addressed yet by a Eye specialist.
Im fuming my Dad has spent the last 5/6 months thinking his sight was going & worrying about what might be wrong with him, to find he had been given 3 pairs of glasses & paid a fortune for them, to him, to find they were totally wrong in the first place & it was the glasses that are making his sight worse. And he has now had to for out even more to get the right lenses for his glasses, which he only needs 2 not 3!- you can imagine how cross I am, but my Dads afraid to complain, but I blooming am going too! Sorry rant over!

Ps: AND Vision Express told him to read with a paper/book a few inches from his face this optician said we cant be having that! I mean we dont read with a book practically in front of our eyes do we! Sorry but Im very cross!

Yes it is a independent optician & he has been before back in 2004 - it was on file.

I am so cross, sight health has become a cattle market! My Dads mental health has been affected & upsetting for him & me too. I feel they are partly to blame. If I could get to a head office myself I blooming would! My Dad was worried when I said I wanted to complain on his behalf, but I explained how many other people are walking away wasting money n having their sight being damaged - its just wrong!

Don't blame you for complaining Lyns - I'd be doing exactly the same.

Have to say though that I do like Vision Express - we've used them for a while now and the optician is a great bloke.

I always go to Specsavers and I have to say they are very good. I did try an independent optician last year but it was expensive, the service was awful and they tried to push me into buying a pair of their very expensive glasses that I didn't actually need! To add insult to injury, if I had wanted to buy the glasses I had to make another appointment to try them on!

That's bad! I've used Specsavers and Vision Express and have at least been able to try on and buy frames on the same day!

Exactly - that's what I expect to do! It could have something to do with the fact that all the frames were bolted to the stands!

Not good! Even if it was hubby or daughter who were going for new frames, I used to love to try them on1

My Dad ended up getting new frames on his last visit to vision express, as he was talked into handing in his own frames to get money off new ones, as well as the lenses for 3 pairs of glasses!
Its cost him 150 to get lenses from this other optician & they were far more thorough when testing him than Vision Express were.
Its probably this particular branch, as a whole both firms are huge & must benefit those whom need glasses etc. But to be told when using his reading glasses to hold the paper within 3 inches of his face is just wrong! Especially with the new glasses he can read with the paper on a table etc!

The other one to avoid is Optical Express - the ones i have used spend more time trying to sell you expensive frames - and all the fancy lens coatings.

Now use a local independent one - better service/and in depth examinations
