since my last post. My wife and I are hoping to go down the IVA route and it has surprised me how long it can take to pull all the paperwork together. It is frustrating trying to get balance statements from creditors. For my wife and I it would seem that two balance statements are holding the entire process up for us; Student Loan Company and DELL (CIT) Finance. They are taking so long and every time I call they insist they have sent it and will send another one; they never arrive! I'm now on the verge of receiving my first CCJ from The Cooperative Bank. All my creditors know that I'm going through an IVA but they insist that until the IVA has been agreed they have every right to chase for payment and invoke whatever legal proceedings they want to.

Because of the delay caused by the two balance statements we still don't have a date for the creditors meeting. It's very worrying and quite stressful!

It has got to the point that I am seriously thinking of going straight to BR. If I'm going to have a CCJ registered against me, which is public, then I may as well just go for BR. At least it will stop the letters and the proceedings.

This is so stressful.

Ah I'm so sorry you're having all this hassle, maybe when you call them to ask for your statements, tell them that unless they send them then you're going to go BR, that might move them along. This must be very frustrating for you. Keep posting for support, Viki X

Hang in there, I'm sure things will be sorted out soon. It's so frustrating though when you have to rely on other people. I found one of the worst thing about going into an IVA and then BR was not being in control. Good luck x

I agree with Trees57. I had some difficulty getting up-to-date statements from a couple of my creditors. I passed the info to my IP and they sorted it all out for me. I know its easy to say but try not to let it stress you.

Send it to Melanie and her team straightaway and hopefully they can obtain the missing balance statements directly, how frustrating for you
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Vad ... one of the greatest gifts I developed whilst I was on my IVA/F&F journey was 'patience' ... I really learnt that things happen in their own time ... and to make the most of the delays to build up my contingency funds. It took a year for my F&F to be resolved!

I hope things get sorted for you soon.
