Well one year on from our IVA we have come through some turbulent months, but we have done it and boy am I proud! Last year when it was my birthday, I think I sat and cried all day, didn't put up my cards or went out!
This year, I have paid over £17000 back to creditors via IVA, and have money in the bank (albeit £90 until 15th!) - I am looking forward to taking my nieces out for the day on Saturday to Gullivers Land and having some fun!
For those just entering into IVA land - it is hard, but it does get easier because you get used to monitoring your money - when it has gone it really has gone.....and thank goodness as you have no fall back so can't get back into old habits! I am so glad we took the plunge last year and 4 years time I will be debt free with my head held high !

On your birthday I wish you much pleasure and joy;
I hope all of your wishes come true.
May each hour and minute be filled with delight,
And your birthday be perfect for you!
Happy Birthday Lulu

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

Had a fantastic day out on Saturday with my nieces at the Gullivers - great weather! Took a picnic to save money, all it cost me was an ice cream!
Had a voucher for four free meals at the local Harvester on the way home,so even better ate out for the first time in a long while - all it cost was two drinks and a pudding!
Haven't seen my husband smile like he did on Saturday for months - and I then realised what a great decision it had been alittle over a year ago to go through the IVA process - our lives have come back to us and we are now holiding our own - not asking for help and not using credit!

Great post Lulu. Its good to have a physical and mental break every now and again. As Mrs Wizz is so fond of pointing out .... you don't need to spend a fortune to have a great day to remember.
