I picked up my new car today. Having decided that my last one was getting a bit long in the tooth and with the ever rising fuel/running costs I bit the bullet. It was nice to buy something with cash and know that it was mine and not worry about the HP costs. So I have brought a small little runabout which will be fine for getting me to and from work. It should give me about 50 MPG (approx) and the best thing is that its only £35.00 per year road tax.[:)]

Well done! I wish my road tax was as little as that - £145 for a Ford Fiesta is ridiculous!

Hubby gets mobility allowance, so we don't pay for ours.

My tax for a corsa is £120 which seems a bit much as it is only a little car and needs a flying start to get up a hill.

I wouldn't blame you either! I'd be the same (but I am definitely not manly!)
