I recieved a letter from a company called M&D services. It states:

"if you have been in an IVA for less than 18 months you can have all you unsecured debts legally written off"

Is this too good to be true?

Apologies for the brief response ... but that basically is it !!! Apart from those of us that feel some obligation to pay as much as we are able, if it were true, everybody would be doing it.

I would guess that these are ambulance chasers, who will probably attempt to steer you towards bankruptcy for a fat fee.

It is too good to be true! They are ambulace chasers as Foggy says. They do not know your circumstances and if your IVA is running well then let it continue.

If you are struggling then your IP is your first port of call.

I totally agree with the other posters and as Jan says if you're struggling within an IVA then do speak with your IP as more often than not there is something they can do to help. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am coping with my payments (bit stretched at times) but not ready to throw the towel in. This letter arrived with my name on it. Guess these companies are able to get personal information about people which is a little unsettling.

They get the info from the Insolvency Register, Oskiee6.

All too often the Insolvency Register is abused in my opinion and like a lot of other posters I would like to see this removed from the public x

Shouldn't be allowed. I would like to see it removed from the public view as well.

Likewise -- it serves no real purpose.

There must be a way of raising this issue through protest and our democratic process. They should be held accountable. This would only happen if it was deemed criminal. Which it is !
