well out of the 5 creditors lloydstsb have been a nightmare they have not been off the phone ringing me this weekend, in the finish i just didnt answer, luckily they only have my mobile number
please say it will end when DMP is up and running?
also anyone know if hte creditors can say no to the DMP?
and then it wont go ahead
A DMP is not like an IVA. It is just an informal agreement, and they do usually agree to it, after all it's in their best interests.
They may not reduce interest or stop charges though although they did for me.
The phone calls should stop, but there is no guarantee of that. I just used to get them every six months when they asked if my circumstances were the same, and then they would leave me alone again.

They seem to panic when they notice the DD's have stopped and think, I am not standing for this and all hell seems to break loose on the phone call front. They actually have very little power compared to something like the electric bill, who wont harrass you they will just cut you off, so they tend to shout and scream. However, when they find out properly from the DMP company that youre doing all you can, there is really little else they can do. Make sure if you have debts with your current bank that you changed to another, all you need is a basic bank account.
The people that call you up all the time are from call centres paid to get some money, nothing else will matter to them. Dont be bullied or belittled, just tell them calmly that youre going into a DMP and they will be hearing from you. Most will agree to the DMP as even they will recognise they cant get blood from a stone.
Dont worry too much we have all been there, I know its scary, but by realising that youre are doing all you can in difficult circumstances, and are firm with them, they will back off.
Good Luck LD, I hope things start to look up for you soon.
thanks
the lady who rang first time, may i add was 8.30am on sat morn, was still in bed
left a answer phone message, she wasnt english had a accent!
then they played a recorded message stating i need to ring them
of course i never
i feel bad for not ringing back
Dont beat yourself with a stick, the less strong would have crumbled under what you are carrying and all by yourself. Its so easy to keep hearing I'm so stupid, why? how on earth did I get to this? You hear it over and over again and would do anything to make it stop, but its your own voice youre hearing, go to the mirror and tell yourself to stop... Youre a good person who fell down a big black hole, its far too easy to get there. Dont worry about the phone call. They can afford to phone you back and they will.
When I read your postings I just want to come over and give you a big hug.

And of course don't forget that they will probably start ringing you from 8am until 9pm most days now. Perhaps when you are at home you can switch your mobile off, or a least put it on silent?
