My IVA was agreed yesterday & I’m so relieved! Although this is my first post I’ve been a regular visitor to this forum over the past few weeks & thought it time to share my experience over the last couple of months.

It was in October this year that I finally realised my finances were in a mess, I’d been borrowing from Peter to pay Paul for years with loans & credit cards and it finally caught up with me as the last credit card approached it’s limit.

Although I had been making all minimum payments to my creditors, I was so worried that my IVA would be rejected because I had A LOT of debt & I could only afford to offer 14p per pound. After the longest 3 weeks of my life my creditor meeting took place on Tuesday 6th December, I was so anxious! To add to my stress there were a few points that my IP was negotiating on with my creditors that caused a delay and another sleepless night! It wasn’t until Wednesday morning that I got the best Christmas present I could have hoped for – a call to say my IVA had been accepted without any amendments!

This forum has been a great support for me, many thanks to everyone; it was so reassuring to know that I was not alone!

If your reading this post & thinking about starting an IVA, I would say act now & do something about it, I know it’s not easy to make that first phone call but you will feel so much better & less stressed knowing you’ve taken the first steps to a debt free future.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Congrats on getting the iva accepted. Which company are you with?

I'm using Debt Focus in Wigan, they have been fantastic - I found them before this forum & there's not much mention of them on here.

I don't know them. As long as you are happy though, that's the main thing
