Well received a positive response from Melanies team today that I could be considered for an IVA, however my Wife, who has a loan of £15k @£292.00 a month would not be eligible. Her £292.00 would have to come out of her disposable income.

Still unsure what the disposable income will be at the moment as she will not be included therefore unsure whether they still treat us as a couple for our I & E?

However, one step at a time I suppose.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

Little steps will eventually make a big leap [:)]...I would think you will have to show your wife is contributing fairly to the household expenses but anything over that is hers to do with what she wants...like pay her creditors.

I'm sure Melanie's team will give you the best advice so please don't worry.

xx

pennyless rest assured its not the long road ahead you think it is.look at a iva as a short cut.could it be possible for your wife to enter into a dmp hopefully with interest frozen.if not the disposable income that your wife uses to pay for her loan wont be included in your household disposable income, it will be classed as expenditure. your overall disposable income will be less ,so your iva dividend to creditors and monthly payments will be less.hope this makes sense.you are with a very very good ip that will do her best for you i,m sure.good luck pennyless dont loose heart we have all been in your boat and slowly but surely we are all coming out at the other end debt free.

Pennyless - why don't you start a blog

They are read by lots of people and are always there, unlike threads which disappear.
