I'm so relieved that my IVA has been accepted! This forum has been a great help, thank you guys for all the words of encouragement. First payment will be in 5 weeks time, since I have stopped paying all my creditors whilst my IVA was in the process of being approved, I have extra money left, is it ok to keep that money for now and spend it?

Hello Redaqua1130 and welcome to the forum

Congratulations!!!

Yes it is, its a good idea though to build up a contingency fund for eventualities in the future that will crop up from time to time.

Regards David.

Hi,

welcome to the forum from me too. I'd definitely agree with olydak, there will almost certainly be times when you'll need some kind of contigency fund.

Good luck :)

Congratulations! I hope the road ahead of you is trouble free. Any money you have saved will be helpful for unforseen/unexpected expenses in the future. Good luck!
It's been a long road getting from there to here but it's been worth it!

Well done, great news. It is best that you squirrel away any savings you can make now, to form a contingency fund. I am afraid, over 5 years or so, you will probably need to dip into it.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Congratulations. Personally I would save the extra money you will have between now and your first payment. It will be that little bit extra peace of mind.

I would definitely put most of the extra money aside - you never know when you might need it!

Congratulations and good luck for the future x
