Hi
Amazing that Barclays did not vote and they had the majority/casting vote.
Why would they not bother ????

Barclaycard didn't vote at mine either which I was quite surprised about as they had written to me and phoned my quite a few times.

Interesting. So say ( just hypothetically )your creditors were LLoyds £40,000, Barclays £20,000, Northern Rock £20,000, MBNA £10,000 and HSBC £10,000. At the meeting you IP proposes 40p/£ and Barclays MBNA and HSBC vote YES but Northern Rock vote NO (of course). LLoyds don't bother to vote. With LLoyds not bothering to vote does that mean Northern Rock have a casting vote? So the proposal would be rejected? Surely not?
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

But a good IP would not let Lloyds away without voting, so I don't feel that this situation would arise - but hypothetically your maths is correct.

Thanks Melanie. Fortunately I have a good IP [:D] and Northern Rock are NOT one of my creditors. But, non-hypothetically, LLoyds do have the casting vote in my case. They have been very nice on the phone and I make sure I call them at least once a week!
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

Wow, this is one of the biggest debts I have seen apart from my own and with so much creditors. It could have turn out a nail biting finale! I would have been scared out of my wits when the iVA meeting came.
But try doing a DMP with all the creditors....

It is amazing how you can get so much credit these days....I had no asset -thank God- and still raked up 92K! Madness

I owed around 65k Sonyse2t5, all of it unsecured, no assets apart from my car and nothing (apart from the car) to show for it. Scary!
