hi

ok, we have been in an iva for 6 months now and our car has decided to break beyond economical repair.

we need a car as my husband is unable to get to work without one (public transport doesnt run that late at night or early in the morning)

my husband has been offered extra time at work which would help us afford to lease a car through a lease scheme (the scheme would cost approx 130 per month). my question is this, would we be allowed to do this while in the iva as we can keep our payments the same , its just that obviously our income would be higher but so would our outgoings.

another good thing with the car lease scheme is that we wouldnt have to pay for repairs or car tax or mot so absolutely no chance of needing to ever pay for car repairs.

i hope someone can help with this question

Hi brokegirl and welcome to the forum

If I were your supervisor I would agree to this, but will you pass the credit checking to be undertaken by the leasing company? You will need to get your own supervisor's permission to enter into such agreement, but one would hope that common sense would prevail here.
