Hi All,

My IVA has been accepted today. Modifications included increasing payments by £40 per month, so dividend is 61p instead of 58p in £.

I feel a bit strange, the weight feels like it is still firmly on my shoulders!

Anyway, I'm taking the dogs on a long walk now and hopefully everything will sink in.

I'll post more details when I receive the Chairmans Report.

Thanks for all the support on this forum, it is fantastic

Well done Hels

Try to concentrate on the fact that you are leagal protected from this debt as long as you make your IVA payments (which hopefully will be an affordable amount).

It's still a long tough road but you have taken another giant leap towards a debt free existence.

Best Regards

Great news hels

I just came to have a look to see how you got on, really pleased for you. I know what you mean it didnt sink in for a few weeks, but then you realise the worry is gone, the postman doesnt frighten you anymore. Your money is your money not someone elses that you have to pay back with interest, I know five years seems a long time but wont it be nice at the end. My first six months has flown by, and most of all my husband feels great without the worry which makes me happy as he had a heart attack 3 years ago and I always felt the pressure for him to earn added to it.

Great news Hels, I hope all goes well for you. Dont worry about feeling nothing has changed, it does take a while to sink in. I would say it took a couple of weeks for things to start to sink in with me. Firstly, I still had creditor calls which finally now seem to have dried up. And secondly, I still had lingering doubts something would go wrong! I think seeing my name on the insolvency register formalised everything for me. Now I sleep at nights, and I almost dont know how to fill the time that I used to give to dealing with my debts. Its quite surreal really - its like I can almost taste and smell the goodness of life again. Thats about as best as I can explain it!
