This morning I’ve finally had my iva approved at the second time of trying – god I am so relieved. The creditor’s meeting was listed for 10 am and it was all over by 9.45 am when my IP called!! I’ve gone through Payplan and a few posts recently have been giving me real cause for concern about them but in the current climate I’m just happy that the iva was accepted. All my 11 creditors actually voted in my favour, although HSBC wanted two major modifications luckily I had enough votes from the others to overrule them and only minor modifications were made. The whole process of going through this has been so stressful not like the adverts that are banded about at the moment. I feel that everyone has forgotten that we are human, we have feelings and we are not bad people for getting into debt yet we are treated so unfairly. Whilst I am accountable for the amount of debt I have incurred, the banks and lending organisations have to take some responsibility for the irresponsible lending policies they have adopted.

At the moment I’m trying to fight the fall out of post traumatic stress disorder and the stress of having my first iva application was devastating and this along with my illness resulted in me having to go onto long term sick. At times I wondered how I was ever to carry on and even contemplated ending it all. Today I’m glad that I stuck it out – the IVA has been accepted and I’m going into a residential treatment centre to get the other sorted out. To everyone going through this process please please stick it out, do your research on which company you go with, don’t believe all the flannel and go with your own gut instinct, if it feels too good to be true it is and leave it well alone. Even if an IVA is not the answer for everyone, there is usually a light at the end of the tunnel sometimes with a good too many u-bends but don’t give up

Thanks for your words of support, although I've only posted a few times on this forum it has become been a real rock with helping to deal with my debt problems.

Once again thank you and good luck.
