Hi my IVA was approved last week as I am being made redundant. My query is my employment background is commercial. Most roles available require SC clearance. Will my IVA affect SC clearance. What check does SC clearance require.

Please let us know.

Hi and congratulations on the approval. Security clearance, I'm not sure about I'm afraid, I would say if it asks on the form then be honest and hopefully things will be fine. Someone who does know will be along very soon. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Congratulations from me as well, but like Lesley I've no idea about the clearance, sorry.

An IVA will not affect SC level clearance. It may affect vetting at higher levels.

Hi
Thanks everyone for your help, i've just read my post and realised i said it incorrectly, our full and final offer was accepted and so it looks like we've completed our iva which is such a relief, the cloud bit is that i'm now redundant but there is a possibility of a role, i just need to pass SC level clearance which fingers crossed i will and the fact we've been in an IVA won't be held against me. Thanks for all your support, we certainly wouldn't have coped without this forum, i don't post lots but i do read and it's been a real help. xx

Congratulations on getting your offer accepted rainbow- as Melanie says your IVA should not affect SC level clearance.
