I'm back to closing cases, and in fact only stopped for a very short while following the regulators guidance. I found my own way to deal with things which suit my practice, but this may not be suitable for all firms.
This business is getting very frustrating for all me thinks, I feel sorry for those have and should have received their completion certificates by now, i'm just hoping that by September this sorry state of affairs has been well and truely sorted or at the very least all IP's agree that once the final payment is made and acknowledged then any windfall (i so wish!) or inheritance is not longer to be given over to the creditors. Fingers crossed. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
haven't finished reading through all the posts on this subject but i am so annoyed right now as i made my final payment in March 2011 and i still await my completion certificate!!!
whats even more annoying is that i have been confirmed that a PPI claim i made has been successful to the amount of £13k but i cannot get a penny of this until i get a completion certificate.
Grant Thorton took over my case last year and i have to say that communication over the delay has been nothing but poor.
i am now getting rather worried that this money that has been confirmed for me will not end up in my hands all because of the admin delays in issuing my certificate.
You need to sort this with GT but I rather think that you won't see this money at all - it will just go towards your creditors.
I could be wrong though and hopefully an expert will assist on this.

i have been in contact with them over the past year trying to push for a completion certificate and after being quoted that a 6 months extension has been requested back in March 2011 i feel that my case should have been closed long ago.
will not be happy if i loose this money due this ongoing delay which is of no fault of mine

If you've paid you're creditors in full then this money shouldn't be touched, why the hell should they get more than you owed them???

this is exactly how i feel. i completed my payment a month early with no lapses in any payments during the 5 years.
i do feel my case was made worse by the company switch over last year.
just so thrustrating knowing that i could have a nice little payment coming my way but having to wait yet more time to find out whats happening with getting the piece of paper that clears me and puts all this worry to bed.
its bad enough having to suffer going through an IVA (ok i got myself in that situation) but to then have to wait so long to show you are cleared of this is shocking in my view
Please speak to Karol - you may not get an answer until Monday but she will get back to you.

Unfortunately, Superstar, until the IVA has formally been completed the debtor still owes the total amount of debt, not just what was arranged to pay through the IVA.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
should i not have a valid case as i feel my completion certificate should have been organised before this VAT delay with the 6 months extension being up in September 2011 and in this time i heard nothing about when i would get my certificate. throughout last year it did just seem as though i was being fobbed off when i rang to try to get some idea of when i should expect this
