Hi Matty

Well done on getting your CC, however I am probably not the first to say I have just sent Karol a email for an update on mine. My IVA finished Oct 2011 and still waiting for CC. I am sure I will not be the only one reading your post and knowing we have completed quite some time ago and sending off emails. We are all told it could take six months or more and yet you have had yours in just under two. Makes a mockery of the six month timeline. Anyways thats my rant over with lol.

Hi Snoopydog6311,

Have you tried emailing the closures team direct iva.closures@uk.gt.com. Someone will reply to you.

I'm still waiting for my certificate aswell. I emailed the closures team direct & have received a few polite quick emails back. The emails explained everything to me as there was a problem with un-equalised dividends. Now GT are sorting it out. I havn't got an exact date for the all important certificate, but now I know it's progressing & hopefully won't be too long. I have been promised updates.

Hi Vixster

I email Karol and get a response pretty quick. I was told I should have it by end May/June, which I am happy about. My point in my last post was we are all told yes, will take six months for completion and here we have Matty getting his within 2 months. Call me cynical if you want but it doesn't matter where you go in UK there's always a queue. So where's the queue in Matty's case??? No disrespect to
you Matty and again well done in getting your CC.

thanks alot guys&girls on the nice comments :) firstly i totally understand what people are saying about getting there CC and the time it is taking. when i decided to email my IP directly when i found the email contact details for him i went to the top and emailed him. the next day i recieved a call from his manager stating what we have all heard and that it would be at least 6months but may be quicker as my creditors are all accounted for and all my paperwork was upto date. that was at the start of april, then i hadnt heard anything so i emailed the new email for the closures team and was sent an email saying that my case was going to the admin part and could have my case closed and issued with my CC by the end of may. i have heard so much from people telling me different storys and as such decided to take this with a pinch of salt. and really took it that my account and CC would not get to me by earliest aug 2012. but i have recieved it on the 22nd and i have no idea why i have been completed sooner then all you guys who have been waiting for nearly a year!! i did mention that i have been reading and commenting on the forum IVA website and was shocked to see people still waiting for nearly a year. i was told that all cases are individual and as such every IVA will be different to the next etc etc. i understand this as some are more trickier then others but waiting a whole year after final payemnt is inexceptable!! i do hope you guys do get sorted as its such a heavy weight to deal with! i do feel that they are getting on top of things now tho. like i said go straight to the top and demand to speak to the IP him self then you will get some movement or a better understanding on your case and the reasons exactly why they as been such a wait on the CC being issued. i must add i did feel that people where saying and asking alot on here but wherent directing they complints and issues directly with the people like the IP. i didnt get anywhere speaking to GT C/S and karol could only tell me what she was told to say as far as i could see.

IPs have to take personal responsibility for their caseloads, and it should not be exceptional to be able to speak with them - this service should be offered at all stages of the process as required by our clients. Glad you managed to get through to your IP Matt - I know both of the GT partners very well and am sure they were pleased to be able to help.

Mel, I totally agree with you that it should be normal service for a debtor to be able to speak to their IP but the way GT are structured means this is never going to happen - how can just two partners possibly give a personal service to the thousands of cases GT deal with?
Completion certificate received 31 March 2012.

The last letter I got from GT was end of January this year, since then nothing, not even a letter saying 'sorry for the delay'

I have emailed them asking if they can speed things up a bit

It alright having 5 years of 'hell' but even in prison you can get time off for good behaviour, not 6-12months added!!!!

Hello - try emailing Karol directly via the 'Ask a Question' link on the left hand side of the page, she is usually very good at helping posters out.

Whether you have 200 cases or 20,000 the same quality of service and delivery has to be provided by the insolvency practitioner. IVA appointments are held personally by the insolvency practitioners and are not appointments of the particular firms those practitioners work for, are partners in or own. In many cases - perhaps moreso in the larger firms - a hierarchy of managers and case administrators will be employed to do the vast majority of the work required to carry out the supervision of the IP's caseload, but this does not negate the personal responsibility of the IP to their own clients.

Apparently HBOS have now decided that the original figure is too low and they are asking for more (about £2400)

I thought they had 'agreed' the figure at the meeting and they have seemed ok with any payments made, why now?

Thanks for all the help and advice

Congratulations in getting your certificate through in what must be double quick time.

My last payment was 5th Feb and I got a call and a letter saying had went to the closure team in April and could take up to 6 months for Certificate to come through. They did not say if would be 6 months from my final payment or from when they sent out the letter.

How frustrating Mallettron! I know that agreeing creditor claims will slow my completion down too, but you've done your bit now and this is just an administrative hurdle. Congrats on completing the iva!! x

j.ct - why not send Karol an email next week? She gets lots of positive feedback on here for being speedy at getting answers!!
