I made my final payment to DFD a couple of weeks ago so hopefully I can now look forward to a debt free future. I'm not too happy that Equity and Finance have started another PPI investigation at this crucial time and on what goodness only knows. I did sell my house in the end and had a bit of hassle renting as I was still effectively in an IVA but it all worked out in the end and I have been in my new flat for 6 weeks now. I had to give my share of the sale of the house to DFD and it looks like I will now pay off all the outstanding debt, which is a good thing, and as there was £10,000 remaining on the debt and I've paid in over £18,000 I am hoping that I will get some of it back. Either way I hope there will be no delay to my completion certificate being issued. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

Glad you've got into your new home and hope you'll be very happy there. Well done on completing your IVA and sincerely hope any monies due to you are returned to you without delay and that the PPI won't hold up your completion certificate too long.
Let's hope that light gets brighter very soon.

Thanks Lesley, it's been a tough slog over the last 5 years and I've never really relaxed about it but am glad DFD took the heat off me - and the stress as I was thinking of another way out which would have been a stupid thing to do.

Looks like I am going to be caught up in the dreaded PPI again - which is not good when I've just completed my last payment and the pot is overflowing with more funds than I actually owe. I have contacted DFD so hopefully I can get this further PPI investigation stopped as I don't think there is anything to investigate. Why am I still scared and why has the light at the end of the tunnel gone again??

hi again, the other way would have definitely not been the right thing to do. Hang in there re the PPI you've made your payments. Explain all this to them and ask for a breakdown of payments to show you've overpaid. You want and deserve that certificate and hopefully it won't be too long before you get it.

Thanks Lesley - I do so want to say nice things about DFD, I hate posting negative stuff. I have emailed Judith so I hope I will get some sense out of this. I really do not want another PPI investigation

On further investigation it would appear the creditors asked DFD to investigate further PPI which is totally daft in my opinion as they have enough money in the pot now to completely pay off the debt. My explanation on the phone to DFD did no good and they said I still have to agree to it. EIF are the company investigating it and it appears it is an old loan that probably pre-dates PPI so I expect it will be a total waste of time and nothing will come of it other than to seriously delay the completion of my IVA if the evidence of other posts on here is anything to go by. EIF know I am not happy with this further investigation as one has already been done which saw a good sum of money being returned to my creditors. It all seems a bit unnecessary and I am fuming to say the least but in another way if something does come of it then so be it - can't see it happening though. Will I ever get this finished? The light as the end of the tunnel has gone out. DFD were pretty good about this though I have to say, their hands were tied on this one - pity it was right after I made my last payment though before the letter came through.

Just hang in there and hopefully it won't take too long. You will get this IVA finished and once you do a celebration will be in order.

You have done all the rights things and made some difficult decisions. It must be so frustrating for you that there is another trawl for more PPI. But don`t lose faith ...no more monthly payments and you can now enjoy having money in your pocket.
Hopefully the wait won`t be too long.

The PPI must be so frustrationg, but at least you can enjoy the extra money each month from not having to make the payments. use the first months to treat yourself to something you have missed. Enjoy!
I don't think the light has gone out just had a lamnpshade put on it to make it a bit dimmer.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

Don't hold your breath about getting anything back!!!
Firstly if there is only one PPI claim outstanding get in touch with Judith and ask for a variation on your IVA to let this PPI claim be handled separately and then your IVA can be closed. If you wait for the PPI claim to be done, it could be forever till you get your CC.
Secondly, I paid in over £95k to my IVA with creditors claims of £80K - DFD's fees come to just over £15K (yes I was shocked too) so in fact I didn't even achieve 100p in the £ it was 99.3p in the £. I am currently querying all the charges.
Thirdly. Did you know you could have done all the PPI claims yourself??? DFD had told us if we didn't sign the EIF forms then we are breaching our IVA and it would fail. Little did we know we didn't have to do this and could have done it all ourselves and saved the 33% plus vat charge from EIF (not that they have been very good as had to do most of the work for them) - Miss -selling on the miss-selling of PPI there I think!!!!
Anyway, now your payments have completed, have treat and breath. I don't want to burst your bubble but if you don't chase up the PPI thing then it can drag on for ages.
Good luck
