Hi Guys.. I've never posted before but have taken a great amount of advice and solace from others posts over the past 5 years when I was in some dark places so thanks to all the contributors for that. Today I paid my last payment and finished my IVA.... What a feeling it is. If you're just starting or midway through one I know it seems a long way away but it's worth it.

So moving on.. What comes next for me? I know that it will be on my credit file for the next 12 months but can I be doing anything to build my credit in the mean time?

I have a basic bank account can I get a normal one that pays interest etc or will that again have to wait till the 6 year mark?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again guys for everything :D

Also can I ask do I come off the insolvency register 3 months from completion for 3 months from the 6 years after it starts? Will I see an improvement on my credit file if it's the first? TIA

I think there is little you can do for another year for your credit rating.

It will take up to 3 months to come off the register from when your completion certificate is issued.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle, Clearscore and Totally Money are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Well done for reaching the end of this stage of your debt free journey.
As Lisa suggests little you can do now other than settle into your new life and routine .. another year will go by quickly. Your completion certificate will take a while to cine through but once received you will come off the register with three months.

Good luck !

Well done on reaching the end --- the real magic happens at 6 years -- have a read here and have a look at the last few entries on my blog ( link below in the signature block ) : https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record
