Can't answer your question but well done for getting to the end.

Jan
Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.

Your IVA will remain on your record for the full six years after the IVA was agreed. You may find it difficult to get a full bank account before then.

Try Lloyds for a bank account, I finally managed to get one a year after IVA was completed.

Well done on surviving the hard slog.... here starts the rest of your life, so ENJOY!!!!

ive been out of my iva for a year this coming january - i still have the original halifax account i was told to open before the iva was written up. However it is a pain as it isnt recognised many places as only a solo card so not a cheque guarentee card - cant book theatre tickets, theme park tickets, etc over the phone and its a lame interest rate - i applied to upgrade it after the staff at the bank kept offering but got rejected due to credit rating most recently being october. Going to try again february time when the iva should hopefully have been wiped off now that its been a year after it ended - keep you posted how that goes for those that are curious!

You could always try the Co-op - you will certainly get a Visa Electron and as your IVA is completed, you may even be able to get a full account with them.

Try somewhere else for an account because it seems unfair that the Halifax are treating you like this after all this time.

If you have an O2 contract, they also do a prepaid card.
