Has anybody received letters from the IVA Council telling you to stop payments into the IVA and speak to one of their reps? What is this company all about[:)

They are targetting people who have their IVAs with so called "IVA factories" where they claim they may have been mis-sold. It is not clear what evidence they have of this, or what they intend to do about any subsequent claims.

If you feel that you may have been given inappropriate advice by your own provider, the best thing to do is have a chat with them directly. You should certainly not stop making payments into your IVA, and we had been told by the IVAC that they were no longer putting this in their letters.

Which IP firm are you with, and how recently was their letter dated?

I am shocked that they are still advising clients to stop making their IVA payments, and will be e-mailing their IP when I return to work properly to ask him why this nonsense is continuing.

I suggest that you send the letter to your IP asking them to deal with it on your behalf. They may not be aware that their clients are being targetted, but as I have said earlier if you feel that you have been mis-sold an IVA there is no harm in having a chat with the IVAC - just don't stop making your payments in the meantime.

Hi
Be wary
They will put you in touch with a bankuptcy firm, run by the same people, and charge you to hold your hand whilst you declare bankruptcy.
When you speak to their IP Melanie can you ask him why he states that anyone who feels a moral obligation to repay as much as possible back to banks needs to visit a psychiatrist.
A strange comment from a professional IP

Andy - could you draw my attention to that information please. I will certainly be taking this further. What a ridiculous comment from one who earns his income from this profession.

I can't believe a so called professional would say something like that! All I can say is I'm glad he's not my IP!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Ditto, seems a very odd statement for an IP to make.... Can't see that attitude complying with professional standards for a financial expert! Doubt too many psychiatrists would be impressed either!!
