I have been looking on this site now for the past 3 months and it has been a real help. Thank you.
I have finally got through my meeting date 07.01.09 for the propsed IVA. I am still receiving threatening letters/calls (switched phone off), I thought they would have stopped when my IP sent over all the details. Can anybody please give advise.
Also, as it has taken some weeks to complete all the paperwork the debts have still been increasing due to costs/interest etc. will these be taken into account somehow?
Hey sazzysue, welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to post. Unfortunately the creditors will continue to call but they will eventually stop when your IVA is hopefully approved. Don't worry about the debts increasing, this is normal and the full debt will be taken into account in your IVA. Please keep posting and asking questions.
hi saz,
im sorry youre stressed- im in the same boat as you and sometimes you do feel like putting a sledge hammer to the phone. im waiting for my meeting too and have had loads of calls/letters-which the lovely sam at mels team has helped me with
its a case of just hanging on and keeping hopeful. i have felt like crumbling but this lovely lot keep me going. please keep posting and good luck hun-were all here for you x [:o)]
Do not worry about the calls, letters or charges. Your IP will have estimated the final claims to incorporate any additional costs and the dividend will reflect this. The letters will stop but it does take some time even after the IVA has been approved for creditors to update all their systems.
Good luck for the seventh and let us know how you get on.
It is usual for claims to be higher than disclosed on the statement of affairs, but this should be marginal and unlikely to affect the dividend payment greatly.
I also send you my best wishes for a successful outcome.
All the best from me as well. We're here to support you when you need us.
