IVA Default - Bank account problems !

Hi..long story..but desperate for help.My IVA has failed and i'm due to get a statement of default anyday.I am going BR but don't have the £485 so have decided to wait til end of the month and payday.I have a Natwest step account and intend to empty account and petition myself at court.
I'm VERY worried about keeping a bank account for wages.Would love to keep my STEP account but if this is not possible i have read that Co-Op, Nationwide and Lloyds are good for bankrupts.However, i owe money to Co op AND to Lloyds and i have read that from 03/07/07 Nationwide have changed their policy and now DON'T allow bankrupts to open even basic bank account.So i would be screwed.Is there any other way to receive wages ??? Please help anyone if you can ?

Please...can anybody help ? Is ThinkBanking any use...with a charge..what if i owe money to the RBS..who run think banking ? It says..the bank account for anybody !?

yes thinkbanking is the bank for anyone whether your bankrupt or in an IVA. they do however have a monthly fee of £12.50 but i believe you do get a meastro card with it and they keep your money for bills etc seperate so theres is no chance of overspending! anyway i think andy davie will be along soon he will be able to tell you more info about it.

Yes,Think Banking will be your answer.It does not matter about the RBS debt and as Jue has already said the cost is £12.50 but thats all that you will pay[no fee for bounced DD etc].
I have used them for over three years now.

Thanks for the advice...i'm definitely interested in the Think Banking option..just trying to find out what the costs are for ATM fess..their website is rather vague.Don't really want to be stung for every cash withdrawal ? Is it on LINK or maybe free at RBS machines only ?
Any personal experience would be invaluable to me and to others i'm sure

Hi..sorry...but i'm still confused.I'm not concerned with WHERE i can use the card (website says any cash machine in UK)..i am only concerned with COST of using the card ? why are such things so hard to find out..makes me think they hard hiding a nasty little surprise !

There are no fees to the best of my knowledge. I have used my card at natwest,tsb,sainsnsburys, barclays,nationwide, chip and pin not turned down anywhere. It is not like a prepaid card where you have charges each time you use it, it is a debit card ,but will only let you use what is in the account. The only place you may get chharged is the machines you find inside pubs and little shops they charge but not the bank.

No my apologies, i'm dashing about trying to do my housework that I dont feel like and popped on a couple of times to have a rest and read too quickly, I have these moments.
Just to add I am with thinkbanking and am totally happy with the service I get. They are friendly, understand the situation fully,I have not had a charge other than the 12.50.,and best of all I know how much money I have all of the time. The only downside is that you cant at present get a balance from the atm but all you do is text bal one comes straight back with the avaliable balance on both A and B account, easier to a degree as you dont have to go to the cash point to get a balance. Internet banking coming soon too.
