Hi
My IVA is going to be failed at the end of the month and I will be closing my business.
Do utility bills both personal and business get included in BR?
Thanks

Sorry littleted, I don't know, but I'll bump this one back up again.

As far as I know they do, you may be forced to have pre payment meters in future though.

Thanks
Am trying to make this as painless as possible. Have had my business for 10 years and just cannot do it anymore. Too many things to think about whilst trying to wrap it all up

Yep, am really up and down with it all. Hoped my IVA would help to get things in order, but not the case thanks to many different reasons. I am a pillar of my community and am dreading all the questions as to why my shop has closed. I have been in debt for years and i'm just dragging it out.

I'm sorry to hear that Littleted.

As far as I'm aware both your personal and business debts will be included in your BR.

I have never had a business so I dont understand what youre going through, I know that debt is a black place to be. You would do well looking at Andy Davies circumstances as it sounds familiar.

Dont worry too much what people think, you are still the same person and with the current econamical climate I am sure they will understand. If people want to judge its their problem, not yours, youre doing all you can to climb out of this, like most of us here.

Its really easy to beat yourself up and be very hard on yourself, please dont. We know how it feels to go through similar. You will know good times again, I know that. For now just plod on and keep posting here, youre amongst friends who understand and want to help.

Thank you for the kind words.
Sometimes I don't care what people think, then others it hit's me like a sledgehammer.
I have a mortgage so I am praying we are in neg equity so we can keep it, I couldn't pay the electric bill last month and now they are being quite rude and I'm just not sure about what happens to all my DD'S when the BR happens arrghhhh

If you can, try and pay the electric bill even if you miss something else.

What I did was to open a basic bank account with a bank I had no debts with and change all of the dd's over. The co op are very good, non judgmental and accept undischarged BR's. Maintain your priorities as much as you can, thats the advice I had, I did owe something to british gas and the money advisor said it would go into the BR. I had changed to another company as I argued with BG I didnt think I could possibly owe what they were saying I did. Long story.

Once you have got everything into your new account you'll feel a lot better.

Take one step at a time, I can identify with what youre saying, one minute you think, its not that bad, then the next, your brain is having none of it and you just feel tied into knots, thinking how the hell did I get here, I am stupid, stupid and its just a vicious circle.

So you kind of have to tell yourself to stop it, one day at a time and take a huge deep breath. Sod what anyone else thinks, you've got to be selfish and think of you and yours.

We are here.

Such as shame as you have clearly tried your best to work throught this during a difficult economic climate. I hope that your IP is going to help you through the bankruptcy process to the best of his/her ability.

Again, thanks.
Yes my IP is giving me until the end of the month before we go ahead with the BR. I trust him fully and we are working towards hopefully keeping my property.
Should I open a new account now or will that be wiped out in the BR?

You could do it now, just open a basic account with the co op or one of the others you dont have any debts with. I know the coop are fine with BR, so are Barclays I believe. Avoid HSBC though and first direct. They dont seem to like skinty poos people in IVA's or BR.
