You will be in good hands with Davids team [:)]

When i first came here, and indeed in my first post I did what you are doing too. I worked my I+E out to have £189. I was informed by most info on IVA's that you need debts of at least £15000 over 3 or more creditors and a DI of at least £200. I remember posting that I coulds jiggle the expenditure to raise £200.
I remember Melanie's words. "If your DI is £189, don't try to make it £200, you will struggle"
Wisest words I was given at that stage and I often quote them.
Its the next 5 yrs you are planning for now, and it has to be right for you. As I said, you will be served well by David's team.
Good luck Sparkley [:)]

Hi Lily, no we are the mother company of the company that sends out all credit cards etc.. so bankruptcy is definately out of the question as we are all security vetted and part of that is bankruptcy. Also am experienced legal secretary and if wanted to go back into law at any stage that again would be a no no.. still heres to the light at the end of the tunnel

Sparklywatcher, The main thing is to be happy. If BR will make you happy then you have to consider it. I always thought that work was my life and I used to do a lot of hours without pay. Now I believe in looking after no1 and if that upsets my employers then so be it. At the end of the day they will be the losers. The other day I mentioned to my manager that if BR happens to be the outcome for me then I would probably lose my car and I wouldnt be able to work. She replied that she would make sure I got a leased car which nobody else has got at the company. The point I am trying to make that if a company wants you then they will adjust the rules and if they don't well perhaps it is betterto move on.

yes but I just feel after all these years fighting to pay everything it would almost be a waste to go BR and also the job market is not desirable right now... dont want more problems :)

Hi sparklywatcher, welcome to the forum. Just caught up on this thread and want to add my support to you. You've taken all the right steps so far. You have been given great advice by everyone.

Freelily, what lovely posts.

I have recently joined the forum and have received excellent advice from David Mond's team. We thought we were going to lose our house but now we're not. I'm sure once you have spoken to Size5, everything will feel much better. It's defitnely a scary journey with lots of ups and downs but we're all here to support you. Just hang in there.

Hi Sparkly

Thanks for the kind words and angelc too. I just wanted to say, if BR would cause problems then dismiss it as an option hun. Sometimes it may be the only way for some and the chosen way for others.

Hang on in there, I can tell you this time next week you will feel so much better than you do now.

Stay strong and smile, although you will wobble and panic (perfectly natrual and goes with the territory) youre already on your way to a solution.

Love and hugs.
LILY

Hi
I understand that abacus are a division of cleardebt that specifically deal with DMPs. However, don't worry I'm sure they will consider your circumstances and be recommend an appropriate option for yourself, whether IVA or DMP.

well they have called me and said I do not have a strong case for an IVA, said I should really go into a DMP for a few months first. They will send me out the pack but did not seem hopeful. I am gutted, dont know where to go now.

Hi sparklywatcher, not sure who you spoke to, but David Mond the IP of the company has said that he will get one of his senior staff to speak to you. He posts on here under the name (size 5). He is called Mike and was great with me, listened to everything I had to say and passed me to one of the team to draft a proposal. I am sure, they would not be pushing you down a DMP path unless they really thought it was the best thing you you.
It may be worth giving Mike a call directly, explain that you post on here and that David asked you to contact him. His number can be found in his profile in the 'meet the experts' section of this forum.
Good Luck

Why did they say that an IVA was not suitable for you? Was this due to the level of your disposable income, or the level of your debts.

Swardean - could you edit your post please, as personal telephone numbers should not be advertised on the forum.

Sorry Melanie, I will remove it. I thought it was public domain, as it is in his profile on this site.
