onthinks if they (IP) did inform you then surely they should of advised that a variation of your payment would be required at that time. To let it go 4 years then spring it on your really is poor management.

In the first instance you need to go through the internal complaints procedure for your IP company.
Once that is exhausted then you can take things further.
