Hi all

I've had the most brilliant news today - my IVA has finished.

All money sent to pay off Joint Mortgage (due to divorce house transferred to me)and cheque on its way to DFD for full and final settlement.

Boy this has been a long and tiring process - but finally made it.

I know there are others that are just starting out, I'd like to wish you all the luck in the world and you will all get there..

Thank you to all who have given me support for the short time I've been on this site, as others say,I wish I'd found it sooner..I will still be reading and offering support to others..

Good luck to all [:D]

That's brilliant scooby, congratulations. Did you do a full and final IVA or make contributions too? I only ask because I am hoping to do an F&F and wondered about other people's situations. What a relief it must be for you. I hope you do stay on the forum. Viki X

Hello Vicki

I did a full and final - however saying that they did have an extra years payments from me only (it was a joint debt with now ex husband, only his solicitors told him to stop paying as we had already paid for 5 years plus).
It hasn't been an easy ride by a long shot and DFD were dragging their feet today to ring my solicitors confirming the amount verbally, but I guess they are busy! When you're waiting for the phone call though you become selfish and feel that they should only be dealing with your case, but I saw it that it was one quick phone call and they could then get on with other clients who required a lot more of their attention...anyway I'll stop going on and wish you good luck - I am now a single parent and have kept the roof over our heads - my what a feeling [:D]

Thank you all for your kind words.[:D]

I can now move forward with my life, divorce took long enough whilst all this was going on because of IVA ex was saying, as I thought at time too, that it was a good idea to wait for the IVA 4th year?? I didn't know that we could offer a full and final earlier..if I'd known this I would have cleared this a lot earlier and divorce would have gone through lot earlier too..I only knew this was an option because of this site!!Is that wrong that us that are (or were)in an IVA should know this?..I can't remember if we were told we could offer a settlement early when we took IVA out.
