I just wanted to share with you how delighted I am to of finished the iva.

We started our iva in June 2011 after having my 3rd child and excepting that the pressures of our family finances were taking its toll on us. We arranged our iva with freeman jones. I'm not going to lie, but it has been tough the past 6 years. Not being able to go on holidays with children, having to budget and save for house improvements. Our boiler finally packed in 2 years ago and fortunately my parents paid for it and we are now paying them back monthly with no hidden charges! We both work full time and share a car.We have been driving around in a 2002 corsa, which when it rained- the whole floor inside filled with puddles!

In January we recieved a call from fj to say that as we have had a succesful ppi claim and upped our payments, February would be our last payment and we had paid the whole thing back-in full!

In March we recieved our completion certificate and we have been enjoying the extra money every month. We still budget and last week we decided to bite the bullet and get a new car. The thought of getting credit again was scary but the corsa could not do a family of 5 no more! The car delearship checked my credit and it came back excellent! We managed to get a brand new citroen c4 picasso with a fantastic deal! No more driving around with a puddle in the car!

Freeman jones were fantastic with us and would highly recommend them.

If your new to an iva- stick with it! Yes it's hard, yes it's tough , but it is a lesson learned! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry for the rant but I have been reading this forum for years and have never posted as I wanted to wait until we were finished in the iva so we could share our experience!

Take care

Ryan

Well done...we just made our last payment today and to anyone reading this thread who have just started on an IVA thinking my god 5-6 years....well we looked at this forum 6 years ago and had the same sinking feeling that it would never end....it does and it goes quicker than you think. The thing to remember is dont panic put any money you can aside for those bills that will appear ....and if like us you end up in a position in year 4 of a failed boiler with no way of replacing it look to charis grants we have children but dont fit into any off the standard criteria for a free replacement other than through charis ....they also give grants for other essentials so if you hit a brick wall look them up
