Hi,

Girlfriend and I have joing debts built up over last 3-5yrs due to purchase of a villa in Spain.

Credit card debt of approx £30k, 4 loans totalling 40k with banks, a loan of 35k with parents and 130% mortgage.

We are trying to sell the place in spain but it takes on avergae 2-4yrs to sell in the region.

We are struggling and have defaulted on our credit cards.

However, my girlfriend is a teacher, she has been offerred a job in Vietnam that pays better than here and provides accomodation. It is a 4yr contract so will allow us to save a lot of money and have very little outgoings.

Would we be able to enter into an IVA if we were not in the UK?

Hi e-s and welcome to the forum

If you presently have a UK address there should be no reason why you cannot start and IVA before you leave the country and then make the payments electronically from overseas. I have a few clients who are living abroad and this works quite well.

Are you living in Spain or the UK at the moment?
