What a shame that you do not feel that your are getting support from your IP, at a time when you most need it. It might help if you try and speak to the IP directly, as they may not be aware that their staff are being unhelpful.

With regard to the balloon payment, this is something outside of the ambit of your IP, and discussions should have been held with the finance company prior to the IVA being proposed. I know that this does not help you now, but it may serve as good advice for anyone in your situation who is currently contemplating and IVA and has a car on a similar finance agreement.

I am sure that the IVA can be saved and your job left unaffected.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Please help. I started my IVA 05-05-05 and was paying 250 a month, i couldn't cope with the payments and creditors agreed to lower them to 200 but extended it for another yr. I have 18 months left and im needing to lower them to 160.00 but dont want to add anymore time on, if i pay it all i wont have had a penny written off. Im pregnant and wont have the money to pay once the baby is born so need the payments to end may 2012. What can i do ? i dont want to fail as ive come so far, if the creditors agrred i would only have 720 written off. Im with Harrington Brooks and they are not returning my calls or emails. Best bit is I also need the standing order details again as my bank has cancelled it due to changing hands.... Please help

Hi Mary and welcome to the Forum.
Given your circumstances it may be best if creditors accepted what has been paid to date as full and final settlement. You have complied with the IVA and shown intent to pay so contact your IP and I am sure he will be able to help.

David Rankin who has posted above is the IP at Harrington Brooks and has given people to contact. Ring or email them and hopefully everything will be resolved.

Mary.
Hopefully someone from Harrington Brooks will see this but it may be best to send a copy to them directly as well.
