I also was shocked to see my name on the website and am indebted to all the other ivaers who have helped to get this obscene website taken down.

It only serves to notice the power of this forum.

Keep the great work going.

Longslog, I have just been speaking with my IP who, whilst fairly sympathetic and understanding, didn't really seem to grasp how potentially damaging this sort of internet activity could be to any future business. The IP has been onto the IS but I get the feeling that other than that they don't seem very concerned about ensuring that this doesn't happen again. Therefore I would say that you are right when you say we all must make as much noise as possible to ensure this information doesn't just pop up again on another unethical site. I fear that the industry professionals feel pretty secure and that their clients' details being plastered all over Google and dodgy websites isn't something that will damage their businesses at all and therefore pretty laid back about it. I'm emailing the ICO, the IS and I'll also contact the police using the contact details you provided once again by you. I can't tell you how grateful I am that you have pointed us all in the right direction. Yours and other members' input have been really invaluable.

I've just emailed the national cyber crime unit also to ask them where this should be directed for them to look into, will let you know if I hear anything back from them....

Have to say I hadn't and will not google myself because I know the effect me seeing myself on there would have
I tend to prefer not knowing
I would lie to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you for being so pro active and clever in knowing who to contact and what to say
If you have really removed it I am actually in awe!

Just want to echo other peoples gratitude longslog, undoubtedly this site would not have been taken offline without your knowledge and know how.

Like you, I too tend to think it may reappear in the future, so everyone needs to remain vigilant.

At least the perpetrator of this site now knows that he will be chased down as much as possible should he re emerge with his vile work.

As if it`s not hard enough living within an IVA, there always seems to be some issue cropping up to cause extra angst.

Hope everyone is ok.

I agree with everyone's comments.

Without the know how of our fellow IVA forum subscribers, we never would've known it existed let alone how to get it all dealt with.
I really hope that it is truly over.

Well, that was the weekend from hell!! A huge thank you to you amazing guys on here for all that you did and are still doing. I feel somewhat relieved at the moment but I think that we all need to be extra vigilant should this happen again. I'm not certain whether we have been rumbled or not but Hubby is at HO tomorrow so I guess if anything has come to light we'11 soon find out. I sincerely hope that we never have to go through that again!!

Having curiously searched the web for this "new site" it appears there was an option to comment on our own individual "listings page".

Now i know my IVA info is available to those that take the time to search for it,

but a site created that offers a personal disscusion on my situation is totally unacceptable and a huge thank you to the good people of this place that took the appropriate action.

Agree with all your comments. What a relief!. Has anyone informed the Insolvency Register regarding all of this as the information most likely came from them either with or without their pemission?..

And I would say continue to push things through the official channels but don't expect anything more.

The more you push the more you could find it backfires.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Nevillebunny I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly and I have also reported this and complained to all of the to the relevant authorities too. I wanted to let as many people know about this to encourage them to do the same for all the reasons you have stated. I do agree that the more of us speak up the more likely we are to prevent this from happening again. However I think trying to directly speak to our friend 'Jared' through this forum is not going to stop this type of malicious targeting of vulnerable people. It may even encourage it. We can never know who did this whether it was one individual or a group of people. We will never really understand their motives. Maybe it was for financial gain maybe they just get off on the power they think they have by creating such a site and all the stress and worry they've given everybody. Whoever is responsible needs to know that we will all do everything in our power to stop them and that despite being in IVAs we're all more than capable of defending ourselves and that we will hold them to account through the correct channels. I really hope they can be caught and brought to justice frankly because I bet this is only one part of a whole load of other dodgy schemes which are internet based but beyond that I say leave well alone. 'Jared' may well be reading these posts and might be getting off on how rattled he's made so many people. It may make dear old 'Jared' want to get another site up soon. We mustn't fan the flames too much if we can help it. There are some very dangerous, unpleasant people out there. It's easy to do some very nasty things from the safety of a computer. I wouldn't bother with even trying to get anyone to like this to see the error of their ways. I'm just glad that the site is down. Let's just make sure it stays that way!
