I have my creditors meeting scheduled for 26th June and like many messages I have read on hear , it is a very anxious time. I get the feeling that northern rock are not favoured in agreeing proposals which really worries me as they are my main creditor -I am offering 58p in the pound- what is the realistic view of this being accepted by them? also, does anyone have any experience of Halifax on accepting IVA proposals - they are my next largest creditor, many thanks R.

Regardless of the level of dividend, your IVA will be acceptable to Northern Rock providing it provides the best return possible in their eyes.

If the loan was taken out some time ago with a number of repayments already made, your reasons for being in financial difficulties are genuine, and you have been advised of all options available to you and believe this is the best route for your creditors to be repaid I am sure you will be successful on the day.

Thanks Maelanie

i have only had my loan with northern rock for 12 months but my IP has never said that this should cause a problem. i have always made payments its only this month that I have been behind - I know that its a waiting game but the more and more I here about NR the more anxious i seem to get. i have everthing crossed. thanks, R.

What length of time was the loan taken over, and what was the money used for? Did you declare that you had other debts when the loan was taken out?

The loan was taken over 10 years and was used for consolidation mainly. yes I did declare my other loans - is there going to be a problem do you think?

Their point will be that you took at 10 year loan out, used the money to pay off other creditors, have only paid for one year and now want a five year IVA. I can't say whether there will be a problem with this or not, but your own IP seems confident enough to present the proposals for you. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Melanie for your honest advice. I remain optomistic as my IP has advised me that I am worrying uneccasserely as I have put forward a solid proposal - I have all sorts of feelings at the moment I guess it will be a very long week!

Hi all, Only 5 days to go until the meeting -everyone has been really supportive on here - Melanie thanks so much for your advice, I am feeling more confident today than i have done for a while, I have everything crossed it will go well. I have heard nothing from my creditors for a whole week, is that normal practice as others on here seem to be constantly hounded.

regards

Hi westonr
All the best for your meeting. I found things went quiet when they received the proposals never heard a thing after that.
