I am due to have an IVA meeting on 7th aug at 3.15pm. I have 50,000 unsecured debts in my name and a 22,000 debt in joint names with my ex husband. The 22,000 and 24,000 of debt are with HSBC and the rest between egg, mbna and co op. Just wondering what are the chances of an acceptance? I think I am offering 40p to the pound. Works out at 530 per month? What will happen to the joint debt if it is accepted? Also what evidence do they need when the iva is reviewed each year?
Sorry for so many questions!

Hi Angie and welcome
Presuming that your ex husband is not entering into an IVA also then he will have to continue paying the debts as before or come to an arrangement with HSBC.
At your review your IP will ask for wage slips and a fresh income and expenditure form. Some will also ask for bank statements.

Welcome to the Forum angie,

If your ex-husband is not entering into his own IVA, he can be pursued for the whole amount owing. However you will be covered by the IVA as it is legally binding.

Usually at your review your I.P will let you know what documents they require but the normal documents asked for are payslips, bank statements and possibly a P.45.

On the face of it I would say your offer has a good chance of success.

The other party will be persued for the full amount of the debt.

Hi thanks for the information and support.
Money Debt and credit are dealing with my proposal and seemed to have messed it up by giving my creditors a different monthly amout than I agreed to! (£380 instead of £530).
I am now waiting for a rearranged meeting and am hoping for the best!

Can I put leftover monthly money into a savings account whilst in an iva?

That is quite a material difference - what reasons have they given for making this error>

It is a very good idea to put any spare money into a savings account whilst you are in an Iva - that way you will always have the money available to pay for the car tax and servicing bills when they arrive, as well as anything else which is not paid regularly on a monthly basis.
