Hi Gemma and welcome to the forum.

Good luck for your meeting next week. As for the remortgage, you can try and do it, but don't forget that your credit rating will be shot for the next 6 years.

Gemma, I know its hard but dont be scared. You have done all you can now. Your IP wouldnt have put this forward if S/He thought it wouldnt work. Stick to your guns though on the day.

I cant answer the Mortgage question, sorry.

Just wish you the best of luck for the week ahead.

Hi Gemma,
Good luck for your meeting - really hope it goes well for you [:)]
Think remortgaging will be tough and we will be in same boat in 4th year of our IVA but we figure we can only cross one bridge at a time so that particular bridge will have to wait!
Best wishes for everything xx

Has anyone tried to get a fixed rate prior to their meeting,or is the credit rating all to pot by that time. Just that I cant see anyone getting a sub prime remortgage in todays climate.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Not us plasticdaft - we in a way were lucky cos we fixed at discounted rate for 5 year term in middle of 2006 so before all this mortgage nightmare started - hence for now we are ok - just hope that it changes when it comes to remortgage time is 2011/12 and that the market is more favourable by then - not that our credit rating will be mind!!! If you've not paid your monthly payments, that will show up on your credit record, so it might make it awkward to get a remortgage.

Gemma

I hope that your IP has taken the alteration of your mortgage into account in proposing the IVA, as I think it will be almost impossible for you to remortgage whilst in the IVA. Instead you are likely to be faced with the option of your current lender's variable rate which is likely to be in excess of 7%. Please make sure that you will be able to withstand a jump in mortgage payments, which ought to be factored into your IVA by way of a staggered repayment.
