My husband has lost his job recently, and I am getting Income support (Incapacity) through being diagnosed with a ongoing illness last year. Would we be able to get an IVA on Income support? and what about things I have purchased on store cards etc? will they want them back?

I dont think an IVA is an option purely with benefits as your income.
However, bankruptcy may be an option.
Perhaps you could give more details like how much your over all debts are and who are your creditors?

Hiya Kerryann and welcome.
I'm no expert but as income support is a means tested benefit which would give you the minimum amount to live on I think it very unlikely that you will qualify for an IVA. The usual minimum is around £200 per month depending on how much you owe. I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.
Do you have any assets, house or car? You may find bankruptcy a better option for you as it seems that you will find it very diffecult to get an IVA.
It's nice to be back......

It is very unlikely that you could afford to take out an IVA on income support, and the current IVA protocol will not allow you to propose one in any case. Bankruptcy would appear to be a better option if you have no assets of material value.
