Hi, My partner and I owe loads on credit cards. We have been trying to pay them off, but just can not do it. I am on pension credit and my partner is unemployed. Can we still do an IVA

Hey gillian, welcome to the forum. There may be other options for you. Could you please post a few more details. How much you owe, how much you have coming in and going out, do you own your own home etc. The experts can better advise then, hang in there. X

I dont believe your partner will be able to do an IVA whilst unemployed. I was in the process of setting up an IVA until i was recently made redundant. The prosal could not go ahead even if i claimed any kind of benefits.

You will not be able to propose an IVA if your only income is from benefits - but you could try a DMP until you return to work.
