I have just made my LAST payment over the phone to DFD thankgod, now for the waiting game of the completion certificate, however i've been informed that if i need it (not sure what for just at this moment) i can have what is called a letter of good conduct because i todate i've not had a problem with my IVA and it has run very well! I'm going to hot foot it to my bank and cancel the SD, that's it, phew!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

well done orchid5 let me be the first to congratulate you !!
I too have been paid today as Mon is a bank hol
Cant remember which IVA co you are with, as you know only too well from your regular attention to the forum, some are good, some are getting better and some without shaming them are going backwards in terms of closing and comp certificates
The even better news is that in a months time, you will have spare cash
well done again, try and celebrate over vthe weekend
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Congratulations. It is such a wonderful feeling.
I remember we called DFD the day it had been paid, to confirm. As we couldn't wait to cancel the Standing Order. x

Awwww thankyou 12 months to and Niobe, don't quite know how i feel at the moment to be honest. It has been a bit of a rollar coaster year in all honesty, broken arm, damn tick bite which now appears to have had something it has passed onto me, death of my partner's dad and also my friends young daughter, so i will be glad to see the back of it in more ways than one, hopefully going back to work in 3 weeks so normality will set in thankfully. Good luck to both of you and thank you once again for your very kind words. xxxx

I know, i only wish i had known before i started i would definitley have gone with Melanie. I have read so many of her posts and she seems to care, i might be wrong but i have never felt as if my company do. Anyway, i am nearly four years in and if i have no equity in my house in six months time we should finish after five years and thats only just over a year away. Cant help feeling something will go wrong but fingers crossed. Reading success stories like yours helps though. How long did yours last? xx

It was 5 years and one month as i didn't have any equity in my house and have been able to increase my payments over the years so have made up what was expected in equity, although why they did that i'm not sure as i'd only had my mortgage which was a 95% one for a year before all this started, but hey ho it's sorted now. Those next 4 years will go very quickly, i know how you feel as i too felt like that when i first joine the forum and saw others completing. i too would have gone with Melanie if i'd found this site beforehand, however i do have to say that DFD up until a few months ago have been very good, left me alone etc, so not too sure what has happened in the last few months. Take care and good luck, you will soon be posting something like this. xxx

I hope so! Our payments havent gone up at all and as we come up to our fourth review i dont think they will go up this time either so this worries me that when we get to that final review they will say we havent paid enough into it. It does say in all the paperwork that if there is no equity at month 54 then the IVA will finish after month 60 but then i have read posts where i know it is more than possible that they will say we havent paid enough in despite our payments never dropping so we have paid what was agreed in the meeting. I have tried discussing this with my case handler but she is either not interested or doesnt even know herself as i never get a real answer or even a discussion. I even had to email my IP directly a few months ago to get it in writing about the month 54 thing and finishing at 60 months if no equity as my case handler said if no equity we had to extend for a year despite what it said in my paperwork. Its hard when you feel that despite keeping up with your agreement you still feel like you have to fight for every bit of info! [:(]
