Do I always have to go directly to an iva practitioner or can i go through a local third party for initial consultation?

You will normally find a thrid party will charge for you the service but if they dont then there is no reason why not.

I would suggest you went direct then to an IP then you are getting first hand information.

You can go to a third party initially, however beware of any asking your for 2 or 3 months payments prior to an IVA.

Do not only take advice from one company, I always advise to contact at least two.
