Thanks Lesley/Ronald.

I have rang all my creditors and made a payment pro-rata with their percentage of debt and an estimated amount of what they will hopefully be receiving if my IVA go's ahead.

I hope my creditors do take these payments into account but hey if they don't then so be it.....at least I know I've done what i can and as you say Ronald it could help keep them off my back.....at least for a short while.

Was refreshing to find that on speaking to Barclayloan today regarding my debt they advised that had I not already done so then i should seriously consider opening a new bank account and making sure my wages went in it, otherwise the money would be used to offset my debts to my overdraft (Barclays bank) and loan and my overdraft withdrawn, effectively locking-in my money.

I know we are advised of this by our individual IP's, but i just found it good that Customer Services at a creditor would actually issue advice to assist customers in difficulties and I think credit where credits due (no pun intended).

Agreed Melanie.....if only all creditors could be as helpful....also worthy of note that on speaking to Egg...the assistant informed me that as I was now in the process of obtaining an IVA and informed them of my financial difficulties, she had stopped all interest accruing on my account....so another result.

I made no payments at all to my creditors in the run up to the IVA, and it made no difference at all. I can't say that I felt guilty either. I knew that I was doing something about my problems.

Onwards and upwards then. Thankfully I contacted Angela today and have been given a meeting with Thomas at the "proposal team" on Thu 8 Oct 09.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes after making first contact with a "proposer" until the proposal is complete?

At the moment everyday seems like a lifetime and the two weeks from getting my documentation completed to actually speaking to a "proposer" is not making life much easier.....but I suppose these things cannot be rushed.

Hi Pennyless,

Once the telephone meeting took place they posted the proposal to us to sign that very day and we recdeived it the next day!.....they will already have your I&E I guess and will just run through that and your income and discuss all the legal jargon. This call lasted about an hour. Lots to take in but once they receive your signed proposal back it is 16 days from then to the creditors meeting
Gosh.....life is so much easier!

I'm sure your proposal will be with you soon. It won't be long after that before your creditors meeting.

Much better to make sure everything is ok, even if it means it takes a little longer.

Hi Pennyless! I feel the same as you to be honest - all our paperwork has now been submitted and is ready to be passed to our IP - can't wait to have everything in place! Sounds like you'll have your creditors meeting really soon, I wouldn't worry x

Pennyless it seems like an eternity now but once accepted you'll look back and realise how quick time has gone and the relief will far outweigh the wait. I'm sure it won't be long now and wish you all the best, you really are in safe hands.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
