Melanie sorry about delay in replying but just got in from work. Anyway no probs if you can't make the appointment tommorrow evening....I'll speak to Tom in the morning to rearrange.....but wont make it for anytime early on Saturday lol...after all I am sure the Officers Mess will not be closed until at least early saturday morning.

If we dont get to speak before, have a great evening Melanie.

rainbowofhope great to see you moving forward and noticed Cath is also in tow....just hope these planned Postal Strikes dont interfere with any of our mail...of course if it's threatening letters then they can stay in the Post Office!

I have kept the same number and not been subjected to many calls, however, I am sure this will change as the IVA process continues to finalisation.

Worthy of note that although Melanie is my IP I've yet to chat to her but the staff in her office have been great and answered every single one of my questions, as a result of which I have not really needed her assistance.....yet lol. Their patience in explaining things has been excellant and each one..Tina, Angela, Mark & Tom have made the past few weeks certainly more bearable.

Whether or not my IVA application/proposal is successfull or otherwise remains to be seen but one thing I can't fault is those that are simplifying and guiding me through the maze of debt and still allowing me to feel human and "not the waste of space" and "failure" I have felt for so long before I came across Melanie and her team...not to mention this forum also.

Onward and upward.

At 8.30am this morning got a call from Barclayloan Collections and subsequently after giving them the details of my IP and a token payment (which I have given to all my creditors this month pro-rata with their money owed), was informed that they would not contact me for at least 14 days or until I informed them of my creditors meeting.......we live in hope and time will tell.

I hope they don't, but don't be surprised if you get the calls again in a few days time.

I'm sure you will get a meeting date soon.

Just a quick update.....spoke with my IP today (Melanie Giles) and to tell you the truth if she wasn't my IP I would of viewed the call more as a "social" call then a "formal" call, she's soooo nice, understanding, clear and to the point.

Melanie wasn't able to add much that I wasn't already aware of from Angela, Tina and Tom, therefore again it was refreshing to establish that there were no new surprises and what Tina, in my first ever call to an IVA specialist, had advised was pretty much on the button. As a result of which I now feel justified in the confidence and better frame of mind I have felt since contacting Melanies Company.

Though Melanie did, however, reitterate most of what I was already aware of and although it may seem repetitive to some, this process is totally new to me, therefore I felt even more reasured by hearing her voice as my actual IP. Melanie was insistent, quite rightly, that I fully understood the process, my obligations and the committment required from me.....but I assured her that after reading the forums and experiences of posters in such depth and double-checking everything with my advisers, I was certainly entering into this process with eyes wide open.

I should now be receiving my proposal in the coming days so its another milestone and step forward and I must admit although speaking to the others, it was brilliant to speak to the person who will after all be representing me at the creditors meeting. I personally would of felt a little uneasy had we not spoken and I had not had the opportunity to give her my full story from the horses mouth so to speak. It's difficult to explain but I feel this now makes my application between myself and Melanie, acting as my IP, more personal and hopefully this should pay dividends (no pun intened) itself in her giving/explaining my case to my creditors.

All done on a Sunday also....many thanks Melanie for your time!

I'm glad you spoke to Mel, as you say it was just reassurance of what you already know, but it all helps. You also know your IP is approachable and thats so important.

Well done on making this next step, not many more to go now.

Melanie is brilliant, and available at most times of the day.

Your creditor meeting will be here before you know it.

I've finished off the proposal for you now, and it is in the post - so let me know what you think when you have had chance to read it. And do make sure you wife gets the opportunity to read through it too - as four eyes are always better than two!

Glad you found our chat useful, and it was really nice to speak to you personally at long last!

Thanks to all for the support...yep looks like I am getting a lot closer to an actual creditors meeting and hopefully a way out of my debt "hell".

Melanie I know you said you would have my proposal done as quickly as possible but the sincerest of thanks from my Wife and I for spending your Sunday on mine and I am sure others cases. You really are a star and I am so relieved that I have chosen, what I feel, is one of the better IVA companies out there!

Thank-you again

Pennyless and the better half:-)
