Nada Penny, very frustrating, it's holding everything up. Got all my old documents back though, not that I need them now!

Cath is there no way you can speak to the company and ask them to email the details to you or give them Melanies fax number and ask them to fax it to her. I'm sure you will of already impressed on them that time is of the essance and without their documentation they are only delaying receiving their money.

They are worse than useless, Angela has been on the phone to them many times as have I and in the scheme of things they are a small debt! I think it's HP but they haven't been even able to confirm that!

Pennyless

I just wanted to say a big thank you for your words of encouragement yesterday. Selfishly I was so wrapped up in my own troubles, I didn't even realise you were at the stage you were. I can only wish you all the best and I am sure with Melanie and her team working for you, you will be fine.

Thanks again for all your wise words

Soashamed we all start somewhere and the least we can do for the help we receive from the many posters and experts on this forum is to reciprocate the assistance that we have received.

We all have our off days and may I add great days at whatever stage we may be at but one things for sure, if we share our experiences, thoughts or even fears with others on here, then we can always get the support we ALL need at sometime.

As Kallis says you'll get there and I have no doubt you will help others along the way.

Hi Pennyless/Cath - had my phone interview today with Susan - she is concerned as we are paying our mortgage and secured loan, and feels the creditors may want us to hand the house back and rent somewhere, as this would be cheaper and free up more money for the IVA Payments!! There's no way we want to give up our house - has anyone else experienced this??

It does seem to more common, I have answered a similar question on another thread.

We have a mortgage and secured loan and were allowed to keep on paying those even though they account for more than 50% of our monthly income.

Oh no! Are the mortgage payments and the secured loan payments pretty high then? Got me worried now lol!

Good luck, I hope it gets sorted for you and you don't have to sell up.

I'm still awaiting that 1 document!

Hi Jan, thanks for your quick reply. Our mortgage and secured loan account for 47% of our monthly income, so surely our creditors will allow that? Susan did say she was just warning me this may happen and they make it a condition of the IVA, but in that case we would probably go with a DMP instead - what do you think??

Ours are both high, but we also have a reasonable amount of DI and some equity to try and release at the end. However, perhaps it also comes down to disposable income other than the secured borrowings.

Susan obviously knows what she is talking about - more than I do!

You can go down the IVA route - you have nothing to lose, and it won't cost you anything. If you get rejected, you can at least do a DMP.

Thanks Jan - I don't doubt Susan's knowledge at all, that's her job - it just took me by complete surprise to be honest. We don't have any equity in our house at the moment, maybe that's a big factor - and as you say, we can always do a DMP. Will just have to wait and see xx

As I have answered on your other post, Sue's words of wisdom serve as a warning observation rather than a real concern - but our policy is to make our clients aware of all of the pitfalls in order to be well incormed on the day of the meeting.

She did say that to be fair Mel - she said it may not be picked up on, but just wanted to make me aware it may well be an issue. It is just a case of wait and see - thanks again for your advice.
