You will all get there! Might take a bit longer because of the PO, but it will be worth it in the end.

Thanks Pennyless & Kallis - we will all get there in the end, and that's the main thing. Upside to the strike, of course, is that I won't get any creditor letters!! Aren't silver linings great? x

Cheers Penny...we're getting there! How long did it take for your proposal to be drafted after all your info was in hand? The next step of impatience....just thinking ahead about my diary and my trip to Cardiff, although it's school hols next week lol!

Cath once all my documentation was complete it took about a week or so after before I spoke to Tom and he drafted my proposal. A couple of days later I spoke to Melanie, and within 2 days had signed my proposal and returned it. Less than 24 hrs later I got my creditors date. As long as theres no Rugby on the TV I would envisage Melanie will have your meeting/proposal done in double quick time lol.

Yep Rainbow 1 week tommorrow and its make or break time. Fingers crossed me and mine get a break at last......been such a terrible couple of years and this could be a massive load off our minds.

Well just had a call from Halifax Credit Card collection. They did note I had made a previous "token" payment which meant I was in "arrears" and simply asked if I was experiencing any difficulties. When I explained I was going through the IVA process they simply said they would put a hold on my account and requested I keep them informed of proceedings.

Although it was no problem receiving the call I still find it strange that after at least 3 letters to some of these Companies (Initial notification from myself of intention to seek IVA/Letter from IVA Company stating they were dealing on my behalf and then the actual "Proposal" being sent out), they remain unaware of my situation, after all surely the correspondance should eventually make it onto their systems.

In any event the "call" was simple and straight forward and the woman I spoke to was very nice.

Hi - this will happen, happened to us until around 3 months into our Iva so dont be surprised. I must say tho' that halifax were really professional much more so than our other creditors and they did actually vote - and thier vote was yes.

The call centres are usually the last to know about these things. They are just given debtors details and told to ring them to demand payment.

Halifax voted yes for us as well.

Some creditors are very sympathetic and put a stop to calls (John Lewis) and others call on a daily basis and demand payment. I ask if there are no notes on my file, they say that there are but they still need to call. My IVA company said maybe they are on commission to gain payment?

Call centres work on commission - for each person they can bully into making a payment, they get paid.
